A recent survey of homeowners has produced some terrifying figures with regards to home insurance – that being that one homeowner in 16 is under insured; that’s nearly 1.5 million people who aren’t properly protected in the event of a disaster. Even more concerning than that is that in the ‘young adults’ group (18-34), that figure doubles to 1 in 8 who don’t have proper home insurance. Of the 1.5 million mentioned, three quarters of a million only have buildings cover, half a million people only cover their contents, and 250,000 people have no cover at all, which is a huge concern.
